KURUMARE – Portable Battery-Powered Heated Blanket
Kurumare is a portable, battery-powered heated blanket. It warms you in seconds and features built-in snap fasteners that allow it to be adjusted to the body in a variety of positions. The size of the Kurumare is 110 cm × 80 cm. The outer fabric is waterproof, durable, hand-washable and extremely lightweight. Quite simply, it is the most versatile, high-tech and portable heated blanket ever designed.
What’s behind the name?
Kurumare, pronounced koo-roo-mah-reh, is a portmanteau derived from “calmare” (Italian for “soothing”) and “kurumu” (Japanese for “to snuggle up / wrap oneself in”). During testing of our portable 7.4 V heated blankets, the sensation of “soft warmth” was often described by Japanese test users as “being wrapped in the calming warmth of a bath in local hot springs”.

Kurumare features two heat panels made with Softheat wire, sewn in exactly where you want the warmth.

Kurumare is designed for long-term durability and uses only the highest-quality materials and components:
- Outer shell made from Toyota Tsusho’s revolutionary waterproof Gelanots fabric
- Insulation layer made from 3M Thinsulate (70–80 g/m²)
- YKK zips
- Durable nickel/chromium alloy “Softheat” heating wire
- Connectors and cables rated down to −40 °C (for maximum durability and long service life)
- Custom 7.4 V batteries featuring premium Japanese electronics and Samsung/Sanyo battery cells
